![]() October 11th, 2001 - Anniversary It seems fitting to write a few words on the 1st anniversary (one nightmare month) since the terrorists took to American skies and performed deeds that have appalled all right thinking people. Let me make it quite clear that I'm totally against terrorism, fanatics of any persuasion, war and cruelty. The world is on the eve of darkness. I've been studying Osama bin Laden on TV and have noticed his likeness to Christ. Frankly, I think he is the one and only anti-Christ we need bother our heads about. Those of you who believe there is to be one. He will be quite clever in his own way and I think the FBI and CIA and whoever whatever, will have already nutted that out. But the plan to attack America was of such a deliberate and cold nature it meant Bush - who is known for wanting war - would fail to negotiate (anyway there was no-one who could act as negotiator) so Bush reacted and I believe that's what bin Laden counted on. We who have experienced world war two - all those who lived through ww1 are now fortunately deceased - know the full horror of a world war. This is, tragically, the first world war of the sparkling new 21st Century. HA HA HA. Some sparkle. Exploding bombs on Afghanistan and promises that all countries that harbour terrorists will suffer the same treatment. One thing we MUST do is stop the boat people coming down from Indonesia because they'll be stacked with terrorists. Although no one is game (foolish?) enough to say so. So what are bin Laden's thoughts on the outcome of Armageddon? Surely he's bright enough to know very little will be left of the world by the time it has ended. So what is it he really hopes to achieve? If I'm right and he is the anti Christ, he'll be Satan-like in his desire to destroy the world. He will be totally disinterested in how many he kills, how they die, how much they suffer. He will totally believe in his cause (whatever that is) and what is happening today will tragically be what he wants. Of course America is ruling the skies over Afghanistan - they don't have an air force! I don't think for one moment we'll be spared terrorism in Australia. And while our Kangaroo team may well be derided by the Poms for not flying to England - stuff the Poms. They didn't give a damn about us or our soldiers in either war when they went to defend England. And they wont give a damn about the Aussie football team either. However, one little known FACT, is that the Poms put our troops with the pommy troops to stop them running away in the wars... Let me make it clear that there are many fine people in England. But I have as much time for England and its Royal Family as it had for Australia (zilch) and the "Royals" A stumpy lot at best, certainly gave the beautiful Princess Di a rough ride and death. I reiterate that the Emergency Services of New York showed raw courage. They will always be remembered for their unique courage. The Americans must rightly be proud of those many men and women who gave their lives, their time and devotion to a devastation never before witnessed in America. However, to defeat bin Laden and those of his ilk, we must remain calm and courageous. This planet has a horrifying history of wars, stop and think. It hasn't always been the victor who won. Helen |
