![]() September 17th, 2002 - Sooty, the Merc and Old Age I know it's now September, but when I moved house at the end of February - wow what a shocker! I've sworn that my next move is into the urn. I'm really feeling like biting the dust now I've struck the three score years and ten bit. Nothing to recommend it. It won't matter how many physical jerks you do to ward off old age, It's inevitable if you live long enough... All Nature decrees that for those who survive long enough, we shall grow old. And do remember it happens in the animal kingdom and note that despite the fact that they are always on the go, they too age and die. I tell you what, I reckon death is a dignified form of release from pain and twisted bones and joints and stuff. Oh yes, and the 'car of my dreams' (my Mercedes) is going like a dream and I feel Like Lady Muck driving him - I've named him Beethoven - and we both swan along, frequently with Sooty our black labrador Golden Retriever cross who loves poking his head out the window - but not over 80 - 90ks an hour. Any he faster he then wisely withdraws. Sooty was given to us when he was six months old in October, 2001. He was nicknamed Terminator 2 by his then owners, and rightly so. However with the assistance of my son, Stephen, we've tamed him down a bit. He's humungous but gorgeous and everyone loves him. I hope you'll read my Blogs and if you don't want to comment via email,
that's okay by me. Many of you will disagree with me, that's okay too.
As long as you think about what I'm saying. Hooroo for now,
