November 16th, 2002 - BALI, the Price of War

As a True Blue Aussie (a white Australian from the days of early settlement via my foreparents) I’m as deeply rooted in the soil of this Country as our native gum trees. In particular the Blue Gum...

I’m using this analogy because the blue gum trees (for the uninitiated) grow up strong, straight and true and as a result were used as telegraph poles throughout this vast continent.

So with my roots firmly entrenched in the soil of Terra Australis, a surprising number of my fellow Australians believe the American Government set up the bomb blast in Bali.

Kuta for some thirty or more years has long since been a popular holiday resort for Australians. Not Americans...

The Europeans and wealthy Australians tend to stay at Sanur Beach in Bali.

Neither do we doubt that having been warned by America’s government officials that our country is at danger of a 9/11 event, we don’t doubt that same government will organise and detonate a bomb somewhere - no doubt Sydney - where it’ll do the most damage.

Pity - it’d be no loss if it were some valid site in Canberra...

Bali is the first Price of War for a group of innocent Australians and equally innocent Balinese.

As a Nation, we’ve never started a war. We successfully colonised New Guinea and we calmed down the Timor situation both with tremendous success.

We’re not perfect, but we’re not far off being perfect...!

(That’s a joke)

Surely it has dawned on some of the thinking Americans that their country is intensely disliked overseas? Haven’t the bombing of American Embassies in numerous countries throughout the Northern Hemisphere told the Yanks anything?

9/11 was a price paid by innocent people - surprisingly few, do go back over my Blogs and see the statistics for the number of people who should have been in the Twin Towers at the time the planes blasted them into rubble. The number of people killed is bad enough but it does not compute with the number of people who should have been present in the Twin Towers - normally...

Iraq’s top Government Officials have warned America of the terrible price their country and America will pay if they start a war in Iraq.

Genuine mother love is not a force to be played with. How will you American mothers react when what is left of your sons return in body bags?

Hasn’t Vietnam taught the American Government anything?

Certainly George W. Bush hungers for war.

I’d put him in the front line, myself, and watch his hunger disappearing on the horizon before the first shot was fired in anger.

Most people in the world of today understand the futility of war.

Most people in the world of today are protesting against this war.

Americans - don’t think your country wont be bombed. 9/11 proves me right...

We were bombed by the Japs up in Darwin (our Top End) during the 2nd world war...

That war wasn’t our war. That was England’s bloody war, and Hitler and Stalin and Churchill.

Lets add another name to that trio of ill-fame - George W. Bush. Aka George Warbush.

Think!
