America has made a fool of itself. All it has proved is that the country with the weapons of most destruction (how I loathe that phrase) is America itself.

What America has done to an innocent nation is criminal

Saddam was (is? they haven't found him yet) evil, of that there is no doubt. But there have been many dictators over the last twenty years who have been just as evil and not taken to task, bombed and blitzed out of existence by the Yanks.

Is not the Bush Administration proving to be just as evil as any other dictator?

When I read John Grisham I see the terrible corruption of America. The incredible desire for power and possessions.
Their unhappiness. Their total ruthlessness in acquiring that power and megabucks. Their greed and their attitudes are horrifying.

It seems to be a fact that the whole american society is
terminally ill - except for the few exceptions.

All too few.

The America John Steinbeck and Irwin Shaw wrote about has long since dissipated and is now depraved. Mark Twain must be weeping over the corruption and evil and crime that is now rife in America.

We Australians must hang on to our beliefs, to our individuality, to our ability to turn adversity into a success we can be proud of. Proud of, I repeat.

Those of us with real values, those of you out there, hang on and fight for them.

And continue to think, question...
