  The Dark Side of Eternity

The love between Ankor and Oleiyani grows - but so too does Yahweh's jealousy. Ankor, to his horror, suspects all is not well with Yahweh but cannot prove anything. The situation between god and Greater God is fraught with hidden tensions. This, in turn, upsets Oleiyani who is totally loyal to Yahweh. She is upset with Ankor and very slowly this eats away at their unique relationship. Yahweh aids and abets this behind the scenes, even managing to lure away Light of Light who knows of Yahweh's jealousy. Despite the doubts and fears that concern Ankor, he holds Oleiyani's love through his sheer devotion and passion for her. This, Yahweh knows, is Ankor's one weakness and he intends to use it...

book excerpts

The Snake Dance

... Ankor, relaxed, sat back on the patio that overlooked a sparkling white beach. He knew the ultimate in peace and fulfilment when he was with Oleiyani. Yes, their holiday was coming to an end, but there'd be another. He knew they were true companions, marvellous friends and lovers, the aeons they had been together were proof of this. He was aware the silence around him was filled with mystique. Oleiyani was more fascinating than ever to him. To him, she was like a deep blue ocean; ever changing, ever challenging, ever intriguing as shades and moods and enormous depths stirred from her bottomless sink. She was in very truth the Sink of the Universe. He realised she was unusually excited about tonight's performance so he expected something quite spectacular. Her dances enthralled him, aroused him, and, when he finally captured her, they endlessly made love...

It was as if the whole of Nature was still, poised, awaiting the reaction of the Greater God to the menace of the Gaboon Viper, still, coiled, white hooded face with dramatic black inverted V markings that pointed to a pair of vivid emerald eyes that never left Ankor's face. Pool deep, he knew those knowledgeable eyes well; they promised fulfilment after a wild torment of arousal.

Still enthralled by her sensual and evocative dance, Ankor aroused, taut, magnificent in his patient want, watched her as she lay there waiting for him to awaken her.

This is a story of exceptional imagination that takes the reader into the myths about the beginnings of time. How the Creator brought to vivid life the many characters and guided them through the emotional dramas involved when such a bizarre situation comes about, is told with intensity, wit and graceful writing. There's jealousy, passion and great love; all told in words that touch on the meaning of life itself. The credibility of so many diverse characters is handled with a skill that augurs well for developments crying out for further mystical adventures stemming from the darkness of our origins.

Norman Macswan is the former Associate Editor of Australian Associated Press, a foreign correspondent for some twelve years and the author of two well Established books.
